The grand artist lived 66 honorable years, 54 of which were spent keeping the passion of filmmaking live in his heart.
His half-century period of being active in filmmaking arena started in 1969. Later he ventured on theater and the stage attracted him better than acting before the camera until 1983, when he appeared in a movie titled ‘White Death’.
Afterwards, Pesyani delivered countless bewitching performances in various cinematic and TV works, some of which have been aired on iFilm English TV Channel, including ‘The First Night of Peace’, ‘Goodbye Child’, ‘A Piece of Land’, ‘Like a Mother’, ‘Madineh’, ‘A Beautiful Revolution’, and 'Spaghetti in 8 Minutes'.
Pesyani received nominations for Best Supporting Actor awards for ‘Two Women’ (1998), ‘The Burnt Generation’ (1999), ‘The Last Supper’ (2001) and ‘Who Killed Amir?’ (2005) at the Fajr Film Festival. He was also nominated for Best Leading Actor award for ‘In Cold Blood’ (1994) at the Fajr International Film Festival.

The late actor was born to an actress mother, Jamileh Sheikhi, that could easily pave his way to the world of filmmaking, he took his career seriously and studied theater acting and directing at the College of Fine Arts, University of Tehran.
In addition to acting, he worked in other cinematic fields such as directing and assistant directing.
Setareh Pesyani and Khosro Pesyani have followed their father’s lead as both are famed actors in Iranian cinema.
