The multilateral agreement was sealed on the sidelines of the Tajikistan Film Festival, which was held in Dushanbe from October 15 to 20. iFilm represented the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) at the event.
The festival, with a diverse array of themes, marked the culmination of discussions around a joint production project involving Tajikistan, Russia, and Iran.
iFilm TV channel, under the supervision of Morteza Shamsi and his team, played a central role in facilitating this collaboration. The Iranian channel actively participated in the festival, following an invitation from Tajik TV, and subsequently, inked the MOU.
The agreement establishes a partnership between two film companies from Tajikistan, namely Dov Film and Tajik Film, Russia’s Amkart and iFilm. Together, they will collaborate to co-produce the cinematic film titled 'Fish on the Hook' (Mother).
Fatima Javahersaz, iFilm English director and a member of the Iranian team, shared insights into the project's details. “Filming for this project will primarily take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, with additional shooting locations to be revealed as the project progresses. The film's script has undergone meticulous crafting and fine-tuning,” she explained.
Anticipation for the film's release is mounting, particularly with the announcement of a Tajik writer and director set to lead this project.
Production is set to kick off during spring 2024.
