‘24 Frames’ by late-great Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami will be screened at the 2017 Buenos Aires International Documentary Film Festival.

The film will be screened at the festival’s 4th edition opening ceremony on July 24 at the Argentine capital city of Buenos Aires.

The film is a compilation project he completed before his passing.

Abbas Kiarostami, who has died in July 2016, was an Iranian film director, whose ‘Taste of Cherry’ grabbed the Palme d’Or at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.

Several prestigious festivals and film events have already honored the noted Iranian director as well as paying homage to Kiarostami by organizing retrospectives of his works.

He is mostly known as a screenwriter, film editor, art director and producer as well as a poet, photographer, painter, illustrator, and graphic designer.

The cinematic works by the internationally acclaimed filmmaker have been hailed by various festivals around the world.

FIDBA is the first International Documentary Film Festival in Argentina, a space where cinema of the real, films with the same vocation, dialogue with one another and address the diversity of forms and particular tasks that take reality as material.

The festival is planned as an annual event which presents a selection of new directors, revisits the films of prominent authors and recovers works and films unknown to mainstream audiences.

The 2017 FIDBA Buenos Aires International Documentary Film Festival will be organized from Jul 24, 2017 – Aug 2, 2017 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
