Javad Afshar returns with film honoring martyr Ali Sayyad Shirazi

Iranian director Javad Afshar embarks on production of new cinematic project.

Iranian director Javad Afshar, recognized by iFilmers for his notable works such as ‘Kimia’ and ‘Gando’, has embarked on the production of a new cinematic project.

The upcoming film will pay homage to Iranian military officer Ali Sayyad Shirazi, a martyr who holds a special place in Iranian history.

Reports suggest that the pre-production phase commenced earlier this summer when a film production license was issued.

The process of assembling the cast is currently in full swing, with reports indicating that casting decisions have been made to some extent.

As the final selection of a few more actors is underway, the stage is set for the commencement of filming in the near future.

The exact title of the cinematic work is yet to be revealed, adding an element of suspense to the project.

Javad Afshar's decision to explore the life and legacy of martyr Ali Sayyad Shirazi reflects his commitment to creating impactful and meaningful cinematic experiences.

Ali Sayyad Shirazi (1944–1999) was an Iranian war hero. He served as commander of the Iranian Ground Forces and a key military figure during the Iraq–Iran War. He was assassinated by Mojahedin-e Khalq in 1999 while serving as the deputy chief of the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff.
