Vienna Int’l filmfest chief Hans Hurch dies at 64

The Vienna International Film Festival chief Hans Hurch dies at the age of 64, the media reports say.

Having travelled to Rome to have a meeting with filmmaker Abel Ferrara, Hurch suffered a heart failure.

The late Austrian filmmaker was born in 1952 in Schärding Town in Austria.

Formerly being a film critic in Vienna, he took over the position of head of the Viennale in 1997.

The 2017 festival, the 55th edition of the event, is scheduled to run October 19–November 2.
