Iran film ‘999999999’ directed by Karim Azimi has won the Best Experimental Film Award at the Around International Film Festival Amsterdam held in the Netherlands.
The Iranian film was chosen as the Best Experimental film at the festival’s last month edition which hosted films from different countries around the world.
‘999999999’ has focused on the theme that people climb up a stone stair from the childhood through the rest of their lives, and nightmares pour on them like a rain.
Azimi’s 10-minute experimental has so far taken part at a number of international film events, including Roma Cinema Doc 2017 in Italy and Filmstrip International Film Festival 2017 in Romania.
It has won several international awards, such as the Best Short Film at Gold Movie Awards 2017 in the UK.
Another film from Iran ‘Kupal’ directed and written by Kazem Mollai also received the Best Feature Film award of the Dutch event.
