'Salman the Persian' to set record as longest Iranian production

Iranian television series 'Salman the Persian' is to set a record as the first Iranian series that takes ten years to produce.

According to IRNA, the production of the series, which began in 2019, is anticipated to continue until 2029.

Directed by Davoud Mir-Baqeri, the project features more than 1,000 main actors and 4,000 background actors.

Filming is currently underway in Shahroud, focusing on the Iran phase. The series portrays the life of Salman the Persian, a notable companion of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH].

Mir-Baqeri's extensive work on the series is believed to earn him a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for directing the most expensive TV series with the longest production.

Produced by IRIB at the request of Sima Film Center and created by Zolal Film, 'Salman the Persian' is structured into three seasons: ‘Ancient Iran’, ‘Byzantium’, and ‘Hijaz’.

The ‘Byzantium’ season has been completed, and the ‘Ancient Iran’ season is currently halfway through production.

The series features notable actors, including Farhad Aslani, Alireza Shoja-Nouri, Daryoush Farhang, and Mohammad-Reza Hedayati, as well as more than 40 foreign actors from countries such as Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, and Armenia.

Comprising approximately 60 episodes, 'Salman the Persian' is a monumental project in the history of Iranian television, showing a significant cultural and historical narrative.
