Exploring Saba animations: ‘Fingils’

One such notable series is ‘Fingils’, also known as ‘Animals' Kindergarten’, which has garnered widespread acclaim through its three popular seasons.

Directed and produced by Kaveh Kanani, ‘Fingils’ stands out as a delightful animation that captivates children with its engaging stories.

According to ISNA, and citing the public relations department of the Saba Center, ‘Fingils’ is set in a lively kindergarten where every day brings new adventures for the little ones, guided by their teacher, Mrs. Derna.

This series has been a hit, with 96 episodes produced and aired to date. The production of its fourth series is currently underway, with 52 new episodes being made using the cut-out technique, each lasting seven minutes.

‘Fingils’ recently won the best short film award at the 9th Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY), one of the largest festivals for children and teenagers in India.

In an interview with local media, Kanani highlighted the unique storytelling and engaging content that have made ‘Fingils’ a favorite among young audiences.

“The series addresses a wide range of educational topics, from natural disaster preparedness and environmental conservation to social skills like understanding privacy, effective communication, and teamwork,” Kanani said.

Kanani also emphasized that the series covers important lifestyle topics, including eating and drinking etiquette, the use of electronic devices, and maintaining personal space.

With the aim of fostering creativity and problem-solving abilities in children, ‘Fingils’ strives to help young viewers develop both physically and mentally.

The upcoming series promises to explore new themes and further enhance the creative spirit in children, making it a valuable addition to the world of animation.
