Originally produced in 2019 by the Saba Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran, 'Chiya' engages its young audience by incorporating educational themes into delightful stories.
The animation comes in two seasons. The first season has 26 episodes, each 9 minutes long, while the second season includes 13 episodes that are 8 minutes in length.
The series uses the same attractive 2D cut-out animation style that made the first season so popular.
‘Chiya’ explores a myriad of topics designed to engage and educate its viewers. From learning about the five senses, recognizing seasons, and identifying geometric shapes, to understanding the size of objects, games, drawing, numbers, various birds and plants, and even facing fears and recognizing dangerous objects—the series covers it all.
The animation is about a boy named Chiya who goes on daily adventures with his doll, Shirabi (Mr. Lion), and a bee named Zanburak. Shirabi comes to life only when Chiya is around, and together with Zanburek and his other friends, they make learning magical.
Each episode centers on a question from Chiya's curious mind. With help from Mr. Lion and Zanburak, he finds the answers, learning more about himself and the world.
The show's narrative is engaging because of its creativity, humor, and modern style. Instead of preaching, ‘Chiya’ subtly includes lessons in its stories, helping children learn naturally.
‘Chiya’ has not only captured the hearts of children but also garnered recognition at the 18th Iran Media Technology Exhibition and Conference (IMTEC 2021), where it was celebrated for its highest technical quality in the technological products section.
With its mix of magic, education, and heartfelt storytelling, ‘Chiya’ shows how animation can enrich children's lives and make learning an exciting adventure.
