Tehran Short Film Festival introduces AI category for 1st time

The 41st Tehran International Short Film Festival is to introduces AI film category for the 1st time.

This fall, the 41st Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) is to make history as the first official Iranian film festival to feature a special category dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Set to take place from October 18 to 23, 2024, the festival's inclusion of this new category marks a significant milestone in recognizing the impact of emerging technologies on the film industry.

According to the festival's communication and publicity team, this groundbreaking section will not only show films utilizing AI but will also include a competition specifically for these innovative works.

The festival aims to encourage the exploration and integration of AI technologies in filmmaking, providing a platform for creative and cutting-edge productions.

In addition to the AI category, the festival will also introduce a special section for Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR) films.

These new categories reflect TISFF's commitment to fostering technological advancements in cinema and supporting filmmakers who are pushing the boundaries of storytelling.

The festival organizers have emphasized that these new sections are designed to "identify, nurture, encourage, and empower" filmmakers working in these emerging fields, making TISFF a pioneer in the Iranian film industry.
