Acclaimed war drama returns to honor late director

The Cinema Museum of Iran is set to honor the legacy of renowned Iranian filmmaker Rasoul Mollaqolipour.

The Cinema Museum of Iran is set to honor the legacy of renowned Iranian filmmaker Rasoul Mollaqolipour with a special screening of his award-winning film 'Heeva' on his birthday.

The screening session will be held on Saturday at the Ferdows Hall of the Cinema Museum in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

'Heeva', released in 1998, features an all-star cast, including Golchehreh Sajjadiyeh, Jamshid Hashempour, the late Atila Pesyani, Abdolreza Zohrehkermani, Anahita Nemati, and Farhad Qaemian.

The film, themed on the Iraq-Iran war, received numerous accolades at the 17th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran, including the Crystal Simorgh awards for Best Film and Best Director.

Following the screening, the veteran film critic Javad Tousi and one of the actors in the film 'Heeva' will discuss the late Mollaqolipour's cinematic legacy.

The event is a tribute to one of Iran's most influential filmmakers.

Mollaqolipour was a prominent figure in the Iranian cinema.

During the 1980s Iraq-Iran war, Mollaqolipour shifted from amateur photography to professional filmmaking.

His significant contributions to Iranian cinema include films like 'Flight in the Night' and 'Toadstool', which earned him critical acclaim.

Mollaqolipour passed away in 2007 due to a heart attack.
