Sakhila’s role in ‘The Fist of Freemen’ transformed his life

Palestinian actor revealed how his portrayal of Amir impacted his personal life.

Palestinian actor Rashad Abu Sakhila, star of the series ‘The Fist of Freemen’, revealed in an interview before his martyrdom how the portrayal of Amir significantly impacted his personal life.

The interview, recently published on iFilm Arabic website, highlighted how his involvement in the series brought about a deeper self-awareness and changes in how he approached life and interacted with others.

Abu Sakhila shared that playing the role of Amir, a Palestinian resistance fighter, made him more conscious of his surroundings and prompted shifts in his behavior and thinking.

He emphasized that the widespread public response to ‘The Fist of Freemen’ made him more responsible and careful in his actions, speech, and even social interactions.

He noted that the strong connection the audience had with the series increased his sense of duty to uphold the idealized image of his character.

Abu Sakhila took extra precautions, such as avoiding anonymous calls and messages on social media platforms, fearing that Israeli intelligence agencies might be targeting the show's cast members, given their prominent roles in a politically charged production.

‘The Fist of Freemen’ is based on real events from three years ago, where Palestinian resistance forces uncovered an Israeli undercover cell infiltrating Gaza disguised as locals.

The series focuses on the intense clashes between Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, with the goal of exposing Israeli espionage operations.

The series began airing on iFilm English on October 3 and is shown daily at 19:00 GMT, with replays at 03:00, 08:00, and 14:00 the following day.

In addition to Abu-Sakhila, ‘The Fist of Freemen’ features a talented ensemble cast, including Zuheir el-Bilbassy, Ebrahim Salman, Jawad Harrouda, Ahmed Fayyad, Ahmed Abu-Ubayd, Camelia Fadel, Nevin Zyara, Alaa Qadouha, Bassel Shahin, Raeda Abu-Dayeh, and Ali Labed.
