Every rice grain represents lost life in Gaza

In a video shared on social media, award-winning Palestinian photographer Wissam Nassar compares each lost life in Gaza to a grain of rice.

The caption to his post notes each grain "is a haunting tribute" to an estimated 200,000 deaths in Gaza over the past 14 months.

It adds this is a "somber estimate" that reflects both the "staggering magnitude of loss" and the "profound impact on countless families left in mourning."

The 2015 Pulitzer Prize Finalist goes on to explain that while the official death toll reported by mainstream media is under 50,000 (representing only positively identified individuals), many remain unnamed due to the circumstances in Gaza.

The actual number of casualties may never be known until decisive actions are taken to end Israel's genocide, the caption concludes.
