Sima Tirandaz joins Resistance theatre fest jury

Renowned Iranian actress, Sima Tirandaz, has been selected as a jury member for the Street Theatre Competition at the 19th edition of the International Resistance Theater Festival.

Tirandaz will collaborate with Sirous Hemmati and Salman Farkhondeh to judge entries in the festival’s street theatre section, titled “Heavenly Leader”.

The competition features performances across Khorramshahr, Abadan, Ahvaz, and Mahshahr in Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran.

The festival will conclude with a ceremony in Abadan on January 8, where winners in various categories will be announced.

Born in Tehran in 1970, Tirandaz is a celebrated figure in Iranian arts.

She holds a master’s degree in directing and acting from the Faculty of Cinema and Theater.

Her artistic career began with educational plays and small cinema roles, gaining prominence through her performance in ‘Shadows of the Attack’. This role earned her a best actress nomination at the 11th Fajr International Film Festival.

Her notable works include ‘Chimney’, ‘The Green Ring’, ‘Love Rain’, and ‘Setayesh’.
