43rd Fajr Int’l Film Festival announces schedule

The schedule for the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) has been officially unveiled following a draw held on January 14 at Homa Hotel in Tehran.

The festival will open on Friday, January 31, 2025, with the screening of the film ‘Sayyad’ by Javad Afshar.

‘Sayyad’, produced by Mohammad-Reza Shafiee, portrays the life of martyr Ali Sayyad-Shirazi, with Ali Sarabi playing the title role and Maral Bani-Adam portraying his wife.

This marks Afshar's return to feature filmmaking after 16 years, following a successful career in television, including the widely discussed series ‘Gando’ and 'Kimia'.

The film is a collaboration between the Farabi Cinema Foundation and the Martyrs Foundation of the Islamic Revolution.
