First image released from Fajr opening film

The organizing committee of the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival has announced 'Sayyad' as its opening film.

This announcement came during yesterday's screening schedule draw for the festival.

Along with this news, the first official image from the film was released, showcasing actor Ali Sarabi in his makeup as the main character.

'Sayyad' tells the story of Martyr General Ali Sayyad Shirazi, with Sarabi playing the lead role.

The film is directed by Javad Afshar and produced by Mohammad Reza Shafiei.

The cast includes several well-known Iranian actors, such as Houman Barghnavard, Maral Bani Adam, Nader Soleimani, and Mohammad Reza Hedayati.

Originally planned as a television series, the project was later developed into a feature film.

The Fajr International Film Festival, Iran's most prestigious film event, is scheduled for February 2025.
