Here is a shocking incident involving a French woman who was scammed by someone pretending to be Brad Pitt.
A deeply sad story has come to light about a woman named Anne who lost her savings to an online scammer pretending to be movie star Brad Pitt.
The scammer used AI technology to create fake photos that looked like they came from Brad Pitt himself.
Anne, who designs homes for a living, thought she was building a real relationship with the famous actor for over a year.
The trouble began when she got a message from someone claiming to be Brad Pitt's mother in early 2023. Later on, another account started messaging her, pretending to be Brad Pitt.
The scammer went to great lengths to seem real. They sent Anne pictures that looked like Brad Pitt taking selfies, and even showed her what appeared to be his passport.
When they asked for money, claiming Brad needed help paying for cancer treatment because his bank accounts were frozen due to his divorce, Anne believed them.
She sent them around 830,000 euros.
Anne only realized it was all fake when she saw real pictures of Brad Pitt with his actual partner.
She has since reported the crime to the police and has been getting help for depression.
Brad Pitt's team has responded to the news, warning fans that "this is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence.”
Brad Pitt doesn't even use social media!
