Latest additions to Iranian VOD platforms

Iran's VOD platforms continue to expand their offerings with exciting new releases.

Iran's video-on-demand (VOD) platforms continue to expand their offerings with exciting new releases that cater to diverse tastes.

Here's a look at three highly anticipated series set to entertain viewers soon:

Peyman Maadi to direct first VOD series

Renowned Iranian actor Peyman Maadi is stepping into the world of home entertainment as a director for the first time.

His upcoming series, ‘Caviar’, is slated for release in 2025 (1404 in the Persian calendar) to be produced by himself.

Uncle Pourang returns to VOD with new series

Daryoush Farziaee, widely known for his role as Uncle Pourang in kid shows, is set to make another appearance on VOD platforms.

Following his previous success with the series ‘Lullaby’, he will star in a new project titled ‘Crooked Wishes’.

Farziaee is expected to play the lead role in this fantasy comedy, alongside a talented cast that includes Amir-Mohammad Mottaqian, Hamed Vakili, Naeemeh Nezamdoust, and Siavash Cheraghipour.

The 15-episode series, ‘Crooked Wishes’, is currently in the post-production stage.

Mostafa Kiaee to direct two VOD series in 2025

Acclaimed director Mostafa Kiaee, known for his successful series ‘Innocent’, is set to direct and produce the new VOD series ‘The Right Job’.

In addition to ‘The Right Job’, he will also have another series, ‘One Thousand and One Nights’, airing next year, making him the fourth director after Mehran Modiri, Afshin Hashemi, and Kiarash Asadizadeh to release two VOD series in one year.

Though still working on ‘One Thousand and One Nights’—a joint Iranian-Turkish production—Kiaee's next project, ‘The Right Job’, is expected to launch later in 2025.
