Tourists flock to ‘Salman the Persian’ filming sites

Hundreds of tourists have visited the filming locations of ‘Salman the Persian’.

Hundreds of tourists have visited the filming locations of the highly anticipated TV series ‘Salman the Persian’, directed by Davoud Mir-Baqeri.

The historical epic, produced by Hossein Taheri under the Simafilm Center of IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting), has drawn attention for its grand production scale and rich historical narrative. 

Filming, which began in December 2019 in Kerman, has taken place in several locations in Shahroud, Qeshm, Jolfa, and cinema cities such as Ghazali and Nour.

The series explores the life of Salman al-Farsi, the Iranian companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), spanning three historical chapters: Sassanid Iran, the Byzantine Empire, and the early Islamic Hijaz. 

With a star-studded cast featuring Farhad Aslani, Alireza Shoja-Nouri, and actors from Armenia, Greece, Morocco, and Tunisia, ‘Salman the Persian’ promises to be a cinematic masterpiece.

Filming is set to continue in Tehran until late February 2025, with the series slated for release in late 2026.
