Majid Majidi’s latest film enters production phase

Renowned Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi is currently in the Iranian city of Chabahar, filming his latest project, ‘Noon Meal’.

The film features an entirely local cast, with no established stars, and is being shot exclusively in south of Iran. 

A key highlight of the production is the return of cinematographer Houman Behmanesh, collaborating with Majidi for the second time after ‘Sun Children’.

The film, centered on children and adolescents, is funded by the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.

Majidi, known for acclaimed films like ‘Children of Heaven’ and ‘The Color of God’, continues his tradition of storytelling through youthful perspectives.

Filming is expected to conclude by late March, with anticipation building over its debut at the Venice International Film Festival.
