On the final day of filming before the Nowruz holiday, the crew captured a scene depicting Salman Farsi's youth at the Ghazali Cinema Town.
With this scene completed, production is set to resume after the Nowruz break, which runs from March 21 to April 2, 2025.
Filming for the historical drama began in mid-October, with the crew focusing on scenes set in ancient Iran during the Sassanid era at Ghazali Cinema Town.
The production team aims to complete the filming of this chapter in the upcoming Iranian year. The final chapter, set in the Hijaz, will follow immediately after.
‘Salman the Persian’, a production of the IRIB-affiliated Simafilm, is direced by Davoud Mir-Baqeri and produced by Hossein Taheri.
Filming first began in December 2019 in the Iranian city of Kerman and has since continued across multiple locations, including Shahroud, Qeshm, Jolfa, and cinema cities like Ghazali, Nour, and Sacred Defense.
The series, which spans three chapters—Sassanian Iran, the Byzantine Empire, and the Hijaz in the early days of Islam—chronicles the life of Salman al-Farsi, the Iranian companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
A talented cast brings this project to life, with Farhad Aslani, Alireza Shoja-Nouri, Daryoush Farhang, Mohammad-Reza Hedayati, Behnaz Tavakkoli, Ehteram Boroumand, Ali Dehkordi, the late Changiz Jalilvand, Mehdi Faqih, Mohammad -Javad Jafarpour, Alireza Mehran, and many others playing key roles.
Additionally, foreign actors from Armenia, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, and over 1500 local and theater actors have also joined the cast.
The highly awaited series is scheduled for broadcast in late 2026.
