Untold stories of 'Moment of Twilight' series

Director Homayoun Asadian says his series 'Moment of Twilight' is less about plot twists.

Director Homayoun Asadian says his series 'Moment of Twilight' is less about plot twists and more about the emotional fabric of life across decades.

Speaking in a televised interview, Asadian explained that what drew him to the project was “seeing a family over two or three decades with its joys, sorrows, rises, falls, and the cracks that form along the way.”

“I’ve lost interest in story in the sense of ‘plot mechanics’,” he said. “What interests me is moving closer to people, their relationships, the small details of life.”

The series focuses on the everyday reality of families living through the 1980s Iraq–Iran war.

Unlike cinema, Asadian said, series demand more patience. A film may deliver messages in 90 minutes, but a 50‑episode series “asks audiences to wait and watch characters evolve” — like Yousef, who transforms from a draft‑dodger into a different man after military service.

'Moment of Twilight' tells the story of the Vahdat family; a traditional and well-respected family, which endures many hardships and adversities, but manages to overcome them all by always putting family first.
