Tehran welcomes 'Oliver Twist' on stage

The musical play 'Oliver Twist' began its public performances in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

The show launched its opening night at the tennis stadium of the Enqelab Sports Complex in Tehran.

The production is directed by Hossein Parsaee and produced by Jalil Kia.

The main cast includes Houtan Shakiba, Behnoush Tabatabaee, Banipal Shomoun, and Amir-Kaveh Ahangaran.

Based on Charles Dickens’ famous novel, the Iranian adaptation featurs the original score by Lionel Bart. 

Mohammad Reza Kouhestani is credited as the dramaturg, and a team of notable artists in theater and music have collaborated in the production.

Soheil Danesh Eshraqi serves as the project’s art director.
