The unveiling happened on January 3 at the same time as the birthday of Imam Ali (AS) and Father’s Day in Iran, making the occasion especially meaningful.
The poster was designed by Mehdi Davaee.
At the center of the design is an image from Masoud Jafari Jozani's film 'The Stone Lion'. Stone Lion is a well-known cultural symbol in Iranian cinema and represents strength, courage, and tradition.
By choosing this image for the festival poster, the organizers aim to create a strong link between modern Iranian cinema and the country’s cultural, historical, and mythological heritage.
The Fajr Film Festival is the most important film festival in Iran. It began in the early 1980s, after the Islamic Revolution, and has been held every year since then.
Over the years, the festival has played a major role in supporting Iranian filmmakers and introducing Iranian cinema to the public and the world.
The festival is well known for promoting films that reflect Iranian culture, social values, history, and identity.
The 44th Fajr National Film Festival will be held on February 1-11, 2026.
