Candles of hope light up Karbala for Imam Mahdi (AS)

Thousands of candles have lit up Karbala’s Bayn al-Haramayn as pilgrims marked the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (AS).

Thousands of candles have lit up Karbala’s Bayn al-Haramayn as  pilgrims marked the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (AS).

The space between the shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) glows with candlelight as people gathered to remember the birth of Imam Mahdi (MGHHR), the twelfth Imam in Shiite Islam.

Imam Mahdi (AS) was born around 869 AD in the Iraqi city of Samarra. He lives in concealment and will return one day to bring justice to a world filled with cruelty and inequality. His birth is not only a religious event but a reminder that oppression is not permanent.

Karbala holds special meaning for this occasion. It is the city where Imam Hussein (AS) gave his life for truth and dignity. For believers, Imam Mahdi (AS) continues the path that began in Karbala centuries ago.
