Iran historic match becomes movie

In a fusion of sports and cinema, the dramatic 1998 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Iran and Australia has been adapted into a film. 

The film, directed by Kamal Moqaddam, is called 'The Road to God'.

In 1997, Iran’s 2-2 aggregate victory over Australia, secured by a crucial away goal, sparked nationwide celebration across Iran.

Moqaddam is also working on a second film titled 'Yalma', which is Iran's first live-action movie made specifically for children and teenagers. It is described as a musical, fantasy, and cheerful film about the value of friendship, teamwork, and togetherness.

Both films have completed filming and are currently in post-production.
