With preparing large-scale logistical, medical, and accommodation arrangements to receive mourners on Tuesday, the funeral procession and saying farewell to the body of the Martyred Leader started on July 7 in Qom.
The funeral prayers were held at the Holy Jamkaran Mosque with the participation of large numbers of residents of Qom and pilgrims from across Iran and some other countries.
The Jamkaran Mosque served as the main gathering point before the procession began along Prophet Mohammad Boulevard toward the holy shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (SA).
The main funeral procession for the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution was held in Tehran on Monday, with large crowds taking to the streets from the early hours to participate in the historic ceremony.
The funeral ceremonies officially began on July 3, when foreign dignitaries and official delegations from around the world arrived in Tehran to pay tribute to the Martyred Leader.
On July 4-5, millions of mourners attended the farewell ceremonies at Tehran's Grand Mosalla, where continuous Quran recitations and elegies created an atmosphere of profound grief and steadfast resolve.
Funeral prayers for the Martyred Leader and members of his family were held at the Mosalla on July 5 with the participation of senior Iranian officials.
Following Tuesday's ceremonies in Qom, funeral and tribute events will continue in the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala on Wednesday at the request of Iraqi religious and political leaders, before concluding with the burial of the Martyred Leader at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad on Thursday.
