Iranian films to go on China screen during Beijing Book Fair

Iran is to hold a film festival in China during the Beijing Int’l Book Fair.

The Iran Cultural Fairs Institute has scheduled to hold a festival of Iranian films during the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) in China.

A number of most celebrated Iranian movies, including the Oscar-winning drama ‘The Salesman’ directed by Asghar Farhadi, will go on screen during the festival, the Iranian institute announced on Wednesday.

The BIBF will take place on August 23-27, 2017, and has invited Iran to take part at the event as the guest of honor of the fair.

Iran has selected the motto “Iran, the Colorful Dream of Silk Road” for its participation at the Chinese fair.

BIBF, as one of the major Asian events in the publishing industry, will provide an opportunity for a large number of Iranian publishers to display their latest titles.

Iran Cultural Fairs Institute has also considered offering some other cultural programs, including live music concerts, literary meetings and Naqqali (a style of storytelling dedicated to Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh epic stories).

As one of the main business units of China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation, China Publications Expo International (Expo Center), established in February of 2009, is the first professional organization specialized in international exhibition business in Chinese publishing industry.

Headquartered in Beijing, the Expo Center is dedicated to developing the exhibition business in the field of domestic publishing industry, as well as building the largest platform for international cultural exchange and international exhibition business with the commitment to promoting international culture exchange and expanding Chinese book copyright export.
