US strike targets wedding guests on Kuhestak

A US airstrike on a residential area in the coastal town of Kuhestak, in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan martyred five people.

The attack turned a night of joy into mourning, leaving families devastated and prompting calls for international condemnation.

On 1 September 2026, the US Armed Forces launched a military strike against civilians in the city of Kuhestak, Bandar Sirik, Iran.

Five people at a home in which a wedding celebration was taking place were killed and more than 80 were injured in the attack. Two of the dead were children, and a number of the injured were women and children.

Three missiles struck the house where the women's wedding celebration was being held. One of the missiles went through the roof and left a 1.5-metre hole in the ground.
