Iran beginning saddest academic year

Iran schools have been beginning the saddest academic year ever, commemorating the martyred kids in Minab, Hormozgan Province.

The new academic year in Iran is beginning while the country is still mournful for the martyrdom of more than 160 schoolkids as a result of the US crime against education and fundamental violation of human rights and children's rights.

On February 28, the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, was struck by missiles as the US and Israel launched attacks against Iran.

Dozens of children aged 7 to 12, along with their teachers, were killed when the building collapsed, leaving 168 dead and at least 95 wounded.

Targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure, particularly schools, constitute clear violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), contradicting the Principles of Distinction and Proportionality.

The global community must act decisively, as targeting education is a direct attack on the future of civilization.
