A lineup of six Iranian animations is to be screened at the Montreal International Animation Film Festival – Animaze in Canada.

‘Ascribed Achievements’ by Samaneh Shojaei, Farnoush Abedi’s ‘The Servant’, ‘Roohangiz’ directed by Elmira Bagherzadeh, ‘Icky’ by Parastu Kardgar, Sadegh Asadi’s ‘Maned & Macho’ and ‘Release from Heaven’ by Ali Nuri-Oskui are the Iranian animations at the event.

‘Ascribed Achievements’, which is a new experience with grotesque narration and real images, tells the story of an old boy, who is dissatisfied with his inborn appearance and decides to end his life. But his failed suicide leads to a new situation in his life.

‘The Servant’ narrates the familiar story of a master and his servant, the story of a writer’s encounter with a gigantic insect, a cockroach.

‘Icky’ tells the tale of a city that its people have heads like solved Rubik's Cube but there’s one child whose head is not solved.

‘Maned & Macho’ is about a young girl's repressed emotions and instincts that are embodied in some animals that come out of her dreams. However, no one in her family is receptive to these animals.

‘Release from Heaven’ is a mixture of fantasy and reality in which the teacher tries to tell stories for her students to encourage them, but she finds out that the heroes of her stories are real.

The Montreal International Animation Film Festival (MIAFF) presents the finest gems in animation, the website of the festival wrote.

MIAFF is a festival of discovery, a conference where leading experts and emerging talent and content creators in animation film and technology converge and have a dialogue.

The festival is slated for August 17-20, 2017.
