Beijing Int’l book fair opens, hosting Iran

Beijing International Book Fair kicks off, with Iranian, Chinese officials attending.

The 2017 fair is hosting Iran as the special guest of the event.

The Beijing International Book Fair is known by professionals as one of the top four International Book Fairs worldwide.

Many first-time US and UK publishers will also participate in the event.

The 24th Beijing book fair will close on August 27, 2017.

During the event, a festival of Iranian films will be held in Beijing.

A number of most celebrated Iranian movies, including the Oscar-winning drama ‘The Salesman’ directed by Asghar Farhadi, will go on screen during the festival.

Iran has selected the motto “Iran, the Colorful Dream of Silk Road” for its participation at the Chinese fair.

On the sidelines, Iran Cultural Fairs Institute will be offering some cultural programs, including live music concerts, literary meetings and Naqqali (a style of storytelling dedicated to Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh epic stories).
