Iran movies ‘Track 143’ and ‘Gita’ are to go on screen in Bangladesh

According to the festival screening schedule, both movies will be shown on December 6, 2016 and the event is to screen about 20 other Iranian productions, including short film ‘Ardak’ by Esmaeil Monsef.

Narges Abyar’s ‘Track 143’ is a screen adaptation of Abyar's novel ‘The Third Eye’ that is about a great maternal sacrificing during Iraq-Iran war.

The film has taken part in several international festivals, garnering a number of awards such as Special Jury Award for Best Actress at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in Australia as well as the Audience Award for Best Film at annual Reel Sydney Festival of World Cinema.

Starring Merila Zarei, Hamid Reza Azarang and Sara Bahrami, ‘Gita’ depicts the ups and downs of life through the daily life of Gita and her husband, Amir.

The Iranian movie has been featured at the 34th edition of Fajr Film Festival and enjoyed international presence, including the 2016 Oaxaca FilmFest in Mexico.

The couple’s routine life runs into despair as their son travels abroad and the lead role Gita encounters serious challenges accompanied with unexpected events.

The Bangladesh festival has now become a major biennial cultural event of the country, growing in size, stature, and media coverage.
