Iranian art and culture activities have been suspended for three days following the passing of Iran’s Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
The former president of Iran, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani died on Sunday at the age of 82 after having an acute heart attack.
Born on August 25, 1934, the influential Iranian politician and writer was the fourth president of the Islamic Republic, serving from 1989 to 1997.
Following his death, all Iranian cultural and art organizations dismissed their programs for three days, paying tribute to this late honored Iranian political icon.
Fajr International Music Festival also postponed all the programs for three days.
