Centenarian 2017 Hajj pilgrim comes from Indonesia

Centenarian Indonesian woman is one of the oldest pilgrims for 2017 Hajj rituals.

Indonesian woman, aged 104, is one of the oldest pilgrims performing 2017 Hajj rituals in Saudi Arabia.

Media quoted Ibu Mariah Marghani Muhammad recently as saying that she was thrilled and grateful to be heading to the holy city of Mecca, adding, “Alhamdulillah [praise be to God], I … am going to Hajj.”

Officials at the Indonesian Consulate in Saudi Arabia said that Ibu Mariah was in “good health and will be able to perform her Hajj rituals without any problems.”

At least two million pilgrims have arrived at the holy city Mecca for the Islamic pilgrimage of Hajj in 2017, a report said.

The Hajj is the most multicultural and multinational religious event in the world.

Muslims traditionally celebrate Eid al-Adha which marks the culmination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage with the sacrifice of sheep, cattle, camels and other livestock.

The act commemorates Prophet Ibrahim or Abraham (PBUH)’s submission to divine order to sacrifice his son, Ismail (PBUH).
