Iran cinematographer wins jury prize in Iraq

An Iranian cinematographer has received the special jury prize from the Duhok International Film Festival in Iraq.

The Iranian cinematographer Touraj Aslani brought home the special award from the Iraqi festival for his part in the filming of the movie ‘July 14’.

Aslani was directing cinematography of ‘July 14’, a joint venture movie of Germany and Turkey.

Hashim Aydemir from Turkey directed the flick.

The Duhok International Film Festival is an annual event held in the city of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq.

The festival aims to present new and exciting cinema from the Kurdish Cinema and beyond.

The closing ceremony of the Duhok festival was held on September 16, 2017.
