Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released the shortlist of 10 films in the field of Documentary Short Subject on October 26.

The nominated titles will compete for the final five nominations, to be announced on January 24, 2017.

The documentary voters have watched 61 qualified entries and voted at PricewaterhouseCoopers for tabulation.

‘Brillo Box (3¢ Off)’ by Brillo Box Documentary, ‘Close Ties’ by Munk Studio – Polish Filmmakers Association, ‘Extremis’ by f/8 Filmworks in association with Motto Pictures, ‘4.1 Miles’ by University of California, Berkeley, and ‘Frame 394’ by Compy Films are among the nominees.

The selected films also include ‘Joe’s Violin’ by Lucky Two Productions, ‘The Other Side of Home’ by Feeln, ‘Watani: My Homeland’ by ITN Productions, as well as ‘The White Helmets’ by Grain Media and Violet Films.

The 89th annual Academy Awards is scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.

The ceremony will be televised live at 7 pm local time for more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
