Best Shorts Competition honors Iranian ‘We’

The 6th Best Short Competition festival in California, US, honors Iranian animation ‘We’.

The 6th edition of the Best Short Competition festival in California, the US, has honored the short animation ‘We’ directed by Fatemeh Fadaee-Darestani from Iran.

The festival’s website has recently published the long list of this edition’s winners where the Iranian title received an award of merit in the Young Filmmaker (17 and younger) section.

Fadaee-Darestani has also written the screenplay, designed the storyboard, designed the characters and edited the 3-minute animated film.

Produced in 2015, ‘We’ has so far grabbed several awards from a number of nationwide and worldwide events.

Fadaee-Darestani’s work tells the story of two sisters who are entrapped under a wreckage waiting for their father to help them.

The Best Shorts Competition is unique in the industry.  Attracting both powerhouse companies as well as talented new filmmakers, The Best Shorts is an exceptional, truly international awards competition, not a traditional film festival – which allows filmmakers from around the world to enter their films in the prestigious competition.

Best Shorts is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams and new media creators the positive exposure they deserve.

It discovers and honors the achievements of filmmakers who produce high quality shorts and new media. Best Shorts promotes award winners through press releases to more than 40,000 filmmakers, industry contacts and global media/distribution outlets.

The festival is a venue for films, documentaries, new and experimental media, television pilot programs, animation, educational programs, remixes, movie trailers, music videos and tube length works.
