The 12th edition of the Tacoma Film Festival (TFF) has scheduled to screen ‘If You Go Away’ and ‘Retouch’ from Iran.
‘If You Go Away’ directed by Soheila Golestani will go on the festival’s screen in a section called “The Veldt” on October 7-8, 2017.
In ‘If You Go Away’ a couple has to immigrate to utopia because of the war. Difficult conditions separated them from each other, but the young woman fights for her destiny.
The Veldt is the Tacoma Film Festival's VR/360 film studio at the Tacoma Film Festival which debuted in 2016. The Veldt features VR films, interactive experiences, workshops, panels, and filmmaker meet & greets over the first weekend of TFF.
The 19-minute ‘Retouch’ directed by Kaveh Mazaheri will be screened in “Chills & Thrills Shorts” section on October 9, 2017.
The 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ is about a high school girl who attends a hospital to identify her mother's dead body. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.
Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.
Established in 2006, the annual TFF presents a lively week of films, workshops, events, and discussions. It gathers the best in new, independent films, because never-before-seen storytelling and perspectives deserve to be shared and celebrated.
The 12th edition of the TFF is slated to be held in the US city of Tacoma, Washington, on October 5-12, 2017.
