Cinema Verite to screen Cannes fest honored French doc

Iran's Cinema Verite is to screen Cannes festival-honored French documentary ‘Makala’.

Cannes festival's honored French documentary ‘Makala’ has been scheduled to be screened at the 11th edition of the Cinema Verite.

French cinematographer Emmanuel Gras’ documentary ‘Makala’ will go on the screen during the Iranian event.

The film, that won Critics’ Week Prize at 2017 Cannes Festival, has entered the Special Screening section of Cinema Verite.

The film runs along the life of a young couple whose lives depend on the land’s natural resources.

The Cinema Verite screens documentaries which have been hosted by important cinematic events in the world, including Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (in Czech), Visions Du Reel (in Switzerland), International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), the international film festivals of Berlin, Venice and Locarno as well as the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.

The 11th edition of the Cinema Verite Documentary Film Festival is slated for December 10-17 in Iranian capital city of Tehran.
