Iran short film ‘A Few Knots Away’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 62nd Cork Film Festival in Ireland.
Directed by Mansour Forouzesh, the flick chronicles the story of islanders who decide to leave it because the bad is coming to the worse as they’re stuck in carrying the body of a relative to a nearby port. They’re also caught amid a political quagmire as the story unfolds.
Hashem, the elder son of a family, has returned to the island after many years to take his dad’s corpse away for funeral, as he wants to leave no links to the island behind him.
As the island is disputed among some states, his sister Atieh grumbles about his decision, but seems nobody is capable of withstanding Hashem.
Forouzesh has so far been jury member to several international film festivals in the short competition, and his movies have been screened in numerous countries around the world, including Australia, Spain, Turkey, France, US, Brazil, China, Bangladesh, Bahrain and so on.
He describes his film as one to be seen several times, as he’s tried to convey a comprehensive concept to the audience, beyond the limits of time and location. Forouzesh says a first glance might come to appear otherwise, but a bit of time will do.
Produced in 2017, the movie’s cast includes Reza Sheikh and Mojde Daie; Mansour Forouzesh is the screenwriter.
