US fest to screen Iran short film ‘The Man Who Wasn’t Here’

Iranian short film ‘The Man Who Wasn’t Here’ is to be screened in the US fest.

Iranian short film ‘The Man Who Wasn’t Here’ has been scheduled to be screened at the 16th edition of the Big Mini Media Festival in Long Island, the US.

The short film, directed by Ata Mojabi, will go on screen at the competition section of the festival in November.

‘The Man Who Wasn’t Here’ has so far taken part at different international film festivals, including the 16th edition of the Miami Film Festival, the 9th edition of the Interrobang Film Festival, and the 1st edition of the Hub Film Festival, all in the US.

Mojabi's short film is about revenge, intolerance, forgiveness, and cinema. The film is unique in form and style.

It took two years for the crew to complete the filming. It is made by remixing and re-framing some of the most important films of the cinema history.

The Big MINI Media Festival (AKA BMM Fest) is a two-day event hosted by the​ Media Arts Department of Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus.

The festival recognizes and awards bests in 10 categories of animation, short narrative, short and feature length documentaries as well as experimental films created with MiniDV, HDV, and other digital formats. It also recognizes short-and feature-length screenplays.

The Big MINI Media Festival has been in existence for more than 16 years. This edition of the festival is slated to be held on November 10-11, 2017, in Long Island.
