Iran ‘Alan’ wins first prize at Germany film festival

Iranian short film ‘Alan’ has brought home top prize from the Constance Short Film event in Germany.

‘Alan’ won the first prize at the 14th edition of the Constance event (Konstanzer kurz.film.spiele) in Germany, according to the film’s director Mustafa Gandomkar.

“Many Kurdish people have lost their homes and families in ISIS (Daesh) attacks. This is the story of one of them,” a festival catalogue described ‘Alan’.

The Iranian short film made its international debut at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival held February 3-11, 2017 in France.

The 14th Constance Short Film Festival was held in the German city of the same name on October 21-22.

The festival hosted 40 short films from around the world in various categories.
