The 12th PIFFA Supreme Awards in Malaysia nominates Iranian feature ‘Daughter’.

The 12th edition of the PIFFA Supreme Awards in Malaysia has nominated Iranian feature film ‘Daughter’ by Reza Mirkarimi for 7 awards.

‘Daughter’ narrates the story of a young girl leaving her hometown in southern Iran, without the consent of her father, on a half day trip to attend a close friend's farewell party. On the way back, hazy weather changes all she's planned.

The flick has shined at several international film festivals, including the 2017 Fiuggi Film Festival in Italy, the UCLA Celebration of Iranian Cinema in the US, the Seoul International Agape Film Festival in South Korea, and the International Festival of Oriental Films in Geneva.

The movie has won a number of national and international awards, including the best film and the best actor awards at the 38th Moscow International Film Festival, two awards at the 15th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, and four awards in the Mons International Love Film Festival in Belgium.

The Persatuan Pekerja Professional Film Malaysia (PROFIMA Awards, PIFFA 2017) is a glorious platform to acknowledge and reward the professional workers behind the scene involved in the production of films, movies, TV drama series and TV magazines.

The 12th edition of the PIFFA, slated for November 4-6, 2017, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is set to announce the winners during a ceremony on Monday.
