Iranian film ‘Cemetery Men’ to go to Norwegian film festival

Iranian director Ali Mardomi’s ‘The Cemetery Men’ is to go on screen at the 29th Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway.

Iranian director Ali Mardomi’s ‘The Cemetery Men’ has been scheduled to go on screen at the 29th edition of the Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway.

The Iranian short film will be displayed at the International Competition section of the Norwegian event, which will be held in the city of Trondheim from January 25-29.

‘The Cemetery Men’ tells the story of an old man working in a cemetery who spends most of his time praying for the dead.

He is, later on, joined by a young man with a beautiful singing voice who shares with him some events.

The short, 30-minute film was produced in 2015 by the Urmia branch of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society.

The 29th edition of the Minimalen Short Film Festival will present more than 200 world class films at the Nova Cinema in Trondheim.

Minimalen is an annual, independent short film event, covering new productions from Norway, Scandinavia and the rest of the world.

Established in 1988, the festival is based in the attractive old town of Trondheim, Norway. Trondheim is the main city in Trøndelag, the central part of Norway by latitude, and the country's first capital back in the good old Viking days.

With a free spirit attitude to filmmaking and an emphasis on images and film language, Minimalen has refined its main objective into finding new ways to use the film as a medium over the years.
