Iran ‘Release from Heaven’ wins 10th ‘Best Animation’ prize from Venezuela fest

Iran feature animation ‘Release from Heaven’ wins its 10th ‘Best Animation’ prize, this time from the Venezuela five continents int’l film festival, 2017.

Directed by Ali Nouri-Oskuei, the animation grabbed the ‘Best Animation’ award of the event.

It picks a multi-layered storyline in which a  female writer and teacher, Sareh, who has to accompany two of her students on a life changing journey to find their fathers, and is pursuing the hero of her childhood dreams, enters a strange adventure.

There’s a war ongoing, and the mixture of fantasy and reality, brings Sareh, who’s telling the two kids a story every night, to a real-life hero.

Having already bagged 9 ‘Best Film’ awards from festivals in the US, UK, Canada, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Hong Kong and France, the flick this time snatched the top prize of the Venezuelan fest.

The 2017 edition of the event was held November 25 to 28 in Venezuela.
