Iran flick snatches 4 awards at US festival

Iran short ‘Limit’, has won 4 awards at the 50/fifty reel Hallow's Eve Challenge, 2017, in the US.

The flick won the ‘Best actor’ for Davoud Moini Kia’s performance, as well as the ‘Best Editing’ and ‘Best Screenplay’ for him. It also won the festival’s ‘Second Best Film’ award.

Directed and written by Javad Daraei, the 8-minute film which is his second flick, chronicles the story of a man in a quiet neighborhood, who asks the people around to help him, when all of a sudden, somebody goes into his home.

‘Limit’ has so far won 8 top prizes from international festivals, six of them in the US, and two others in Britain.

Javad Daraei adopts a spiritual viewpoint in his movies, this time utilizing a narrative that aims at challenging the status quo regarding the rights of the disabled.

His film, ‘Limit’, depicts the trials and tribulations of handicapped people in their daily lives; issues that irk them given all the snap judgment around.

The 50/fifty reel Hallow's Eve Challenge festival is held annually in the US, focusing on movies produced within 50 days.
