Iran animation ‘Bystander’ wins award at Hungary film festival

Iranian short animated film ‘Bystander’ brings home an award from an international film festival in Hungary.

Iranian short animated film ‘Bystander’ directed by Sheyda Kashi has brought home an award from an international film festival in Hungary.

The Iranian animation won second prize in the animation or experimental film section of the 21st edition of the Faludi International Youth Film Festival and Photo Competition in Hungary recently.

The short animation narrates the story of an elderly man who is indifferent to the revolutionary people in his country. Looking upon his past, he was an active participant in another revolution during his youth.

The animated work was previously screened at film events in Romania, Bosnia as well as the 4th edition of the Tehran Int'l Animation Festival.

The fest has been held in the Hungarian capital city of Budapest. For the latest run, the thematic event invited applicants to process “The Other” theme in the form of a film or photo in accordance with the conditions of the festival.
