Joint production ‘Crocodile Tears’ screens in Armenia

Iran and Armenia joint production ‘Crocodile Tears’ hits the silver screen across theaters in Armenia.

Iran and Armenia joint production film ‘Crocodile Tears’ has gone on the silver screen across theaters in Armenia.

‘Crocodile Tears’ directed by Reza Hosseinabadi is currently being screened in several Armenian cinemas, with plans to come to Iran in the future, the director said.

“The feature film is now on screen at cinemas of Yerevan and Gyumri as two major Armenian cities,” said Hosseinabadi, noting that the film is being broadcast in the Eurasian country with Armenian dubbing.

Hosseinabadi highlighted that his production had been entirely filmed in Armenia as it provides “a ‘low-cost’ location for the filmmakers as such many Iranian directors.”

The Iranian director also stated that his film will soon be dubbed into the Persian language ahead of its release across cinemas in Iran.

“Crocodile Tears has been inspired by Beehive, a 1975 Iranian Persian-genre drama film directed by Fereydun Gole,” Hosseinabadi concluded.

The movie employs both Iranian and Armenian actors. Iranian stars include Majid Moshiri, Babak Nouri and Amir Mohammad Zand.
