'Matador' series: fun facts and behind the scenes pictures

Here’s a number of facts about the series:

Pouriya Poursorkh, an ex martial arts champion, was still well-prepared to personally take charge of the stunt scenes of his role. He really acted well in dangerous scenes like hard jump, or difficult actions.

In one of the scenes, Poulad Kimiaee was expected to jump out of a flying chopper, on to a moving train. For a moment, the rope got stuck to the train; one more second and the helicopter we were in would explode. But God helped’, says Farhad Najafi, series director.

Poulad Kimiaee was long awaited to play a police officer’s role. Among the many alternative actors, and was finally picked. He then agreed to cut his hair very short and wear a different make up and even suffered a leg injury.

80 different locations were used to shoot the series; several cars were destroyed, and at times, three helicopters filmed the action scenes.

All the three cop-friends once caught cold together, during the filming, and even went to hospital, but didn’t leave the team and continued to be there at the shooting sites.
